Catch the Ace
Come on down to Daft for some pizzas, some pints, and to support a great Charity, Martha's Table. Martha's table aims to provide a caring place where people in need can have access to a nutritious meal and find community social support.
So, what is Catch the Ace?
Great question!
Catch the Ace operates similarly to a 50/50 draw, where 50% of the proceeds of each week's weeks ticket sales go to the charity, and the other 50% is distributed as prizes to the winning ticket. But there's a fun twist! When you buy a ticket, you are also guessing which envelope (of the 52 envelopes, each containing a card from a standard 52 deck) contains the Ace of Spades.
Each week, 20% of the weekly ticket sales go to the person whose ticket is drawn. If that individual ALSO correctly guesses which envelope contains the Ace of Spades, they also receive the other 30% of the weekly ticket sales. If they guess incorrectly, the 30% enters the progressive prize pool. The draw continues, and the progressive prize pool will build every week until the Ace of Spades is found!
We are hoping to raise over $200,000 for Martha's Table so they can complete renovations at their location to open up 30+ more seats. This initiative has never been more relevant, after the City of Kingston declared a food emergency.
Tickets are available only at Daft Brewing, and only on the day of the draw, which is every Saturday starting Saturday, June 7.
Tickets can be purchased between 2pm-6pm, and the draw will take place at 6:30 pm.
The draw will be recorded and live-streamed, so there is no need to be present for the draw itself.
